A safari at the Centre Laval
Following the success of a first project, the Centre Laval asked us to create a new family activity for its summer programming. Looking to explore a safari theme, the centre wanted a playful, immersive and free experience that would encourage visitors to extend their time on site. We therefore designed a custom interactive route inspired by the animal world.

Their business goals
- Attract families with a free activity to enjoy on site.
- Encourage visitors to extend their time at the Centre Laval.
- Bring the summer season to life with an original experience aligned with the safari theme.
- Offer an immersive activity consistent with what visitors enjoyed during the first collaboration.
Our creativity
For the Centre Laval, our team imagined a safari fully reimagined for an indoor environment. The goal was to transport visitors into the heart of a tropical savanna while respecting the setting of a shopping centre. We created the Guild of Curious Explorers, a playful world that serves as the narrative thread of the experience and guides participants through their mission.
The route is enhanced with an illustrated bestiary and vibrant landscapes designed to spark imagination, along with a variety of challenges such as riddles, observation, logic and speed, all crafted to appeal to a family audience.
Our tactics
The experience took the form of an interactive route delivered through the Quests to Go mobile app, custom designed to adapt to visitor movement within the shopping centre. Six themed stations each offered a challenge inspired by the behaviours or characteristics of savanna animals. Locations were strategically selected to encourage visitor flow while avoiding congestion areas.
Free, autonomous and requiring no on site staff, the activity was available throughout the entire summer season. It is built on a reusable concept that can easily be adapted to other themes or times of year.
The result
In the heart of the Savana brought the summer season to life at the Centre Laval by offering an activity that was accessible, fun and ideal for families. The experience encouraged visitors to explore more of the site and extend their stay, while creating a warm, highly appreciated themed atmosphere. The project’s success confirmed the value of using gamification as a driver of engagement in a shopping centre.
