An original play area at L’Érablière du Cap
In Lévis, L’Érablière du Cap wanted to add an autonomous and accessible family play area to entertain children and adults after the meal. The goal was to stand out with a playful experience with no technology and to celebrate maple at every station.

À Lévis, L’Érablière du Cap voulait ajouter une zone de jeux familiale, autonome et accessible, pour divertir petits et grands après le repas. L’objectif : se démarquer avec une expérience ludique, sans techno… et célébrer l’érable à chaque station!
Their business goals
- Offer a new self guided activity available throughout the season
- Respect and highlight the maple theme
- Present an innovative and one of a kind concept
- Enhance the site’s family activity offerings
- Celebrate the Tardif family heritage through an investigative storyline and historical nods
Our creativity
For the Sweet Zone, our starting point was simple: how could we create a self guided interactive activity that would capture visitors’ attention as soon as they stepped away from the table?
The idea quickly took shape. Transform part of the site into a sugar shack style fairground, with large colourful panels visible from afar, each offering a different game. A giant seek and find, decoding challenges, skill based games, an investigation and a maze all become playful ways to dive into the world of maple. The storytelling draws directly from the history of L’Érablière du Cap and the Tardif family, woven into each challenge with humour and pride. The tone is friendly, family focused and accessible, creating an immersive experience that entertains, brings people together and celebrates maple at every turn.
Our tactics
This project is built on a fully physical turnkey solution, with no mobile app, designed to be durable, autonomous and easy for the client to operate.
We created a series of custom games integrated into large, sturdy laminated metal panels, designed for intensive outdoor use. Each station was carefully scripted, written and illustrated to ensure quick understanding, smooth flow and immediate enjoyment, with no need for on site facilitation. The artistic direction, inspired by fairgrounds, focuses on bright colours, bold formats and clear readability from a distance, creating a space that naturally draws people in.
From storytelling to content preparation for fabrication, Charlie Tango delivered a playful and educational activity that is cohesive, turnkey and perfectly integrated into the site.
The result
The Sweet Zone quickly became a signature space at L’Érablière du Cap. The giant panels naturally draw in visitors and turn a transitional area into a true family gathering spot. Children engage with the games on their own, allowing parents to extend their time on site in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
The project allowed the sugar shack to clearly stand out from traditional activities by offering an original, immersive, durable experience accessible to all ages. By weaving maple and the Tardif family’s history into every game, the activity strengthens the site’s identity while meeting the requirements of the Érable du Québec grant. A concrete demonstration of communication through play in service of the visitor experience.
